MUA Healers - DESS
MUA Healers - DESS
MUA Healers serve a few purposes. Most commonly they are used while suturing the tissue closed so that the MUA is accessible afterward for imaging or insertion of the prosthetic. They are also used as true “Healers” when they are left in during a healing phase either beneath a denture or no prosthetic at all. There are other uses, as well.
They come in 3 diameters: Narrow 4.8mm, Regular 5.8mm, Wide 6.8mm. Each diameter comes in two heights: Short 4.3mm and Tall 5.0mm. Additionally, a pair (Short and Tall) of Flap Holders are included.
I designed these to be 3D Printable. You can always buy similar items in Peek from various manufacturers (usually ~$30/) if you don’t have a printer, but I like a variety of shapes and the cost efficiency of 3D printing my own. I designed them to be used with the MUA screws you plan to use for your prosthetic; no wasted screws (see the list of supported screws below). I also designed them to be tight. Since they are cylindrical, there’s no problem if they rotate in the site. And I find that to be much better than having the screw possibly fall out of the healer. It makes it much easier to bring it to the site.
NOTICE: I’ve designed these for 3 Different MUA screws at this time. Be sure you’ve selected the correct product. There are NO REFUNDS if you select the wrong download.
SUGGESTION: consider buying my MirrorMitt file as well. It will save you from some of the Code-Brown moments associated with full arch implant dentistry when small parts can fall.
DISCLAIMER: this is an ongoing project. If you have suggestions for different sizes or shapes, please fell free to let me know. I can’t promise to heed all recommendations, but I’m happy to hear you out. Thanks!
