MirrorMitt - Printable STL File
The MirrorMitt was designed to help prevent possible aspiration of various dental devices. Such devices might include veneers, crowns, inlays/onlays, implant screws, and much more. The MirrorMitt is not a fail-safe, but it is one additional measure we might take to help prevent a problem.
Included: Both the 2mm Base and 3mm Base files have been included in this download. The 2mm is more flexible and easier to attach and remove from the mirror. The 3mm is stronger and less likely to crack.
3D Printing: the MirrorMitt was designed to be printed without supports. It is recommended to use a material suitable for intra-oral use. Surgical Guide SLA resin has proven to be very effective in this.
Usage: The MirrorMitt was designed to fit over a traditional metal, one-sided, #5 Dental Mouth Mirror. When inserting the mirror into the MirrorMitt, seat the distal end first and then the proximal mirror shaft second. This will enable the MirrorMitt to flex in the desired locations.
